Despite my professional background as a clinical psychologist, I have always had a passion for the arts. As such, several years ago I pursued oil painting and found a most rewarding way in which to express myself. Being passionate about things reflecting innocence, love, and loyalty, subjects I love most to paint are animals and children. My art hangs in homes from CA to NY. I continue to paint for the intrinsic rewards it provides me and accept commissions. Bijan Pirnia
Speaking of butterflies, one night, a Chinese sage had a dream in which he was a butterfly fluttering over meadows and gardens. When he woke up, he sat at the edge of his bed and thought, "Am I a human who just dreamed he was a butterfly or am I a butterfly who is now dreaming he's a human? " good question. I'm reminded of a statement by Edgar Alan Poe : "ALL THAT WE ARE OR SEEM TO BE IS A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM."
Dr Pat Gehr replied:
Truly an enigma of life...the meaning of our existence, Bijan. I've often thought of this throughout my life!
Bijan Pirnia
I highly admire the way in which you depict facial expressions, be it "Sun-kissed Innocence" or "Wedding Belle." You make the world a better place through the beauty and profundity of your art.
